Service
The founder and at present sole purveyor information on this site is Arthur Fridrich. Arthur is currently the Director of Strategic Management Services within the Office of University Technology at Virgina State University. The intent
of this site is to provide colleges and universities
an information source that has either been nominal or missing
for decision makers in Higher Education. That is to
provide a single source of information about software
companies that have a significant presence in Higher
Education.
Organization
The conceptual framework for this site was born
out of a project Mr. Fridrich was engaged in several
years ago. During an IT Assessment at a University in
the Mid-Atlantic area, Mr. Fridrich proposed a revamp
of the the organization
to present a more external facing look to IT. Prior
to introducing this model, Mr. Fridrich sought out critical review of the concept from leaders at several
prominent institutions, as well from other technology
leaders. While the institution did not fully institute
this model, they did embark on journey to incorporate
elements of the design into their organization.
History
Arthur has worked in or industries supporting
Higher Education since 1977. He has served as as Research
Associate in Institutional Research at Cleveland State
University, Assistant Registrar at Georgetown University,
Director of Administrative Systems at Virginia State
University, Director of Administrative Systems at Gannon
University, Executive Director of Computing at Antioch
University, and Assistant Vice-President of Information
Technologies at the University of Maryland University
College, as well as in consulting roles with over 70 other institutions.
His original interests centered on Administrative Systems
and ERPs, but has grown to encompass software serving
all segments of the college and university community.
This site is born from these experiences.
