July 13, 2007- Does anyone doubt that Higher Education landscape is in an extended period of disruption?! From the halls of Congress to the doorstep of the institution's President, forces are at play that have changed and will continue to markedly alter the academy as we know it. Institutional leadership's ability to grasp the nature of these events, as well as provide a pro-active response in terms of how to integrate policies, people, and technology within the organization, will most likely be amongst the determining criterion as to how well the institution will weather this period and ultimately to the position the institution holds in the future.

For more than a year now, AHigherVision.net has quietly ramped up this site and has remain steadfastly dedicated to its original goal of assisting leaders in identifying companies providing hardware, software and services that can complement the aforementioned activities. So regardless of what type of system or service your institution might be considering, we think that you will find this to be a good starting point in your process.

In spite of our personal endorsement and all that has been accomplished, the road ahead of us is still long and formidable. We will continue to add categories of technologies that appear to have a place in higher education. We also find appealing the idea of providing company profiles, although extremely labor intensive. Finally, we will begin to share thoughts, reviews, insights and suggestions under the "Head in the Clouds" title. This will updated periodically, when time, ideas, and energy meld together at the thousand foot level!

Ultimately though, the success or failure of this endeavor will be dependent upon you the visitor. If there is something you don’t like, let us know. If you think there are vendors that should be added, let us know. Or if you had a good, bad, indifferent experience with your newest technology and would like to provide a review of vendor, please let us know. Two .pdf forms have been added to our Questions/Comments page to facilitate your input. Once you've completed the form, simply click the Submit by E-mail button for submission.

For those individuals returning to this site, welcome back. For those that have happened upon this site for the first time, we welcome you to this humble web site. In either case, we hope that you find information that is both usable and in a usable fashion.
